Give Your Gown Another Love Story

Urban Bride offers wedding dress consignment in Edmonton for select bridal gowns that fit our current collection, style and condition requirements.

Your wedding dress was part of an unforgettable day. Now, it may be ready to become part of someone else’s.

We handle the in-store presentation, appointments and selling process so you don’t have to manage individual buyers, meet-ups or endless messages.

How Bridal Consignment Works

We keep the process simple.

1. Submit Your Gown

Complete our bridal consignment inquiry and provide details about your dress, including the designer, style, size, purchase date, original price and photos.

Please note that completing an inquiry does not guarantee acceptance.

2. We Review Your Dress

Our team reviews each submission based on current bridal trends, condition, age, size, designer and what is currently selling in our boutique.

If your gown appears to be a good fit for Urban Bride, we’ll invite you to bring it in for an in-person inspection.

3. We Confirm Condition & Pricing

Final acceptance is determined after we inspect the gown in person.

Together, we’ll confirm the starting consignment price based on the dress’s age, original retail value, condition and current resale market.

4. We Sell It For You

Once accepted, your gown becomes part of our off-the-rack bridal collection.

Our stylists introduce it to brides during appointments, help them try it on and take care of the selling process.

5. You Get Paid

When your dress sells, you receive 50% of the final selling price.

Pre-Qualify Your Dress

We are generally looking for:

  • Wedding gowns purchased within approximately the last two years
  • Current or recent bridal styles
  • Gowns in excellent resale condition
  • Dresses suitable for our current Edmonton bridal clientele
  • Clean gowns with no significant staining, damage, odour or discoloration (this can be arranged with Urban Bride Inc)
  • Bridal gowns with strong resale potential

Designer label alone does not guarantee acceptance. Our decisions are also based on silhouette, fabric, sizing, alterations, condition and current demand.

In Person Consignment Evaluation

A consignment bride is still shopping for her wedding dress, so presentation is incredibly important.

Your gown should arrive in excellent condition.

If cleaning is required before the gown can be accepted, we may recommend professional bridal cleaning. In some cases, Urban Bride can help arrange cleaning, with the cleaning cost being the responsibility of the consignor.

Alterations, missing pieces, shortened hems or significant customization may also affect whether we can accept a gown.

Our standard bridal consignment term is six months.

To keep gowns competitively priced throughout the term, prices may be reduced according to the consignment agreement.

Our typical pricing schedule includes:

Initial Consignment Price
The agreed starting price when your gown enters the boutique.

After 90 Days
The gown may be reduced by up to 20% from the initial price.

After 120 Days
The gown may be reduced by up to 30% from the initial price.

These reductions help keep your gown competitive as new inventory arrives and give it the best possible opportunity to sell.

Frequently Asked Questions:

How Is My Dress Priced?

Resale pricing is different from original retail pricing.

We consider several factors, including:

Original retail price
Designer and style
Age of the gown
Current bridal trends
Condition
Alterations
Size
Whether the gown is discontinued
Current resale demand

Newer gowns generally have stronger resale potential, while older or discontinued styles may require a larger reduction from their original retail price.

Our goal is to set a price that gives your dress a realistic opportunity to sell while still providing value to both you and the bride purchasing it.

What Happens If My Dress Doesn’t Sell?

Not every gown will find its next bride during the consignment period.

At the end of your term, it is the consignor’s responsibility to contact Urban Bride regarding the gown.

Full return, pickup and expiry terms are outlined in the consignment agreement you receive when your gown is accepted.
