We strongly recommend booking an appointment to ensure we have a bridal suite and dedicated stylist available for you.
Bridal appointments allow us to give you the personalized experience you deserve, with time to learn about your wedding, style and budget while helping you find the right gowns to try.
Walk-ins are welcome when availability allows; however, we cannot guarantee a fitting room or stylist without an appointment.
To avoid disappointment, especially on Saturdays and other busy days, we recommend booking in advance.
Choosing your wedding dress is an exciting and emotional experience, and sometimes it can feel a little overwhelming. We recommend bringing the key people in your life whose opinions you value and trust.
Our open bridal seating area are designed to comfortably accommodate the bride and up to four adult guests, creating a more relaxed and personal experience for everyone.
Finding your dress can also happen when you least expect it! That first moment of seeing yourself in the dress is incredibly special and can’t always be recreated at a second appointment. Therefore, we encourage you to bring the people you’d want beside you for that moment.
Come prepared to find your dress at any appointment — it just might be the one!
Your initial bridal consultation is all about getting to know you, your wedding and your vision for your dress.
Your appointment begins with a conversation with your dedicated bridal stylist. We’ll talk about your wedding date and venue, the styles that inspire you, what you’ve tried before, and most importantly, the budget you’re comfortable with.
From there, your stylist will help select gowns based on your preferences while also introducing you to a few options you may not have considered. After all, sometimes the dress is the one you least expected!
As you try on gowns, we’ll learn what you love—and what you don’t—and continue refining the selection. Whether you arrive knowing exactly what you want or have no idea where to begin, we’ll guide you through the process.
Your initial bridal appointment is up to 75 minutes, giving you time to explore different silhouettes, narrow down your favourites and, perhaps, find the one.
Most importantly, there is no expectation that you already know your perfect dress. Come with an open mind, enjoy the experience and be prepared—you may just find your wedding dress!
You don’t need to bring much—just yourself, an open mind and a little inspiration!
If you have photos, screenshots, a Pinterest board or styles you’ve been loving, bring them along. Sharing your inspiration helps your stylist understand your vision and select gowns that feel like you.
We also recommend:
Nude or neutral undergarments that you’re comfortable wearing while trying on gowns.
A strapless bra is not necessary—many bridal gowns have built-in structure and support.
Shapewear is optional. If you plan to wear it on your wedding day, you’re welcome to bring it.
Wedding shoes aren’t necessary for your initial appointment. If you’ve already purchased them, you can certainly bring them, but don’t feel you need to.
Bring the key people whose opinions you trust. Our bridal seating area comfortably accommodate the bride and up to four adult guests.
Most importantly, you don’t need to arrive knowing exactly what you want. Your stylist is there to help you explore different silhouettes, fabrics and details until you discover what feels right.
Come comfortable, come curious, and be prepared—you might just find the one.
We recommend beginning your wedding dress search approximately 9–12 months before your wedding day. This gives you plenty of time to enjoy the experience without feeling rushed.
Most of our special-order wedding gowns take approximately 6-8 months to arrive, and you’ll also want to allow time for alterations once your dress is here. Therefore, starting early gives you the greatest selection of styles, sizes and ordering options.
Getting married sooner? Don’t worry! Urban Bride also carries a selection of off-the-rack wedding dresses that can go home with you, along with special-order gowns that may be available on shorter timelines.
Every wedding timeline is different, so even if your wedding is approaching quickly, it’s always worth asking us what options are available.
Due to the special nature of bridal merchandise, all sales at Urban Bride are final. We do not offer refunds, returns, exchanges or store credit on wedding gowns, veils, accessories, special orders or off-the-rack purchases.
For special-order wedding gowns, your order is placed specifically for you based on the designer, style, size and colour selected at the time of purchase. Once your order has been submitted, it cannot be cancelled, changed or refunded.
For off-the-rack gowns and accessories, we encourage you to carefully review the item, fit and condition before completing your purchase, as these items are also final sale.
We want you to feel confident before making your decision. Therefore, our stylists are happy to answer any questions about your gown, ordering details, sizing and timelines before your purchase is finalized.
All purchases are subject to the terms outlined on your sales receipt and/or purchase agreement.
Once you’ve found the one, we’ll guide you through the ordering process so you know exactly what to expect.
Your bridal stylist will take your measurements and review the designer’s size chart with you. Together, we’ll confirm your gown’s style, size and colour before your order is placed.
A 60% deposit is required to place your special order, with the remaining balance due when your gown arrives. Once your order has been submitted to the designer, changes or cancellations cannot be made.
Most special-order bridal gowns take approximately 6-8 months to arrive. Timelines vary by designer and gown, so we’ll review the estimated delivery timeframe with you before ordering.
When your dress arrives at Urban Bride, we’ll complete an initial inspection and contact you to schedule your Dress Arrival Appointment. You’ll get to try on your gown, and we’ll review it with you before it goes home.
Alterations are not included in the purchase price. While Urban Bride does not have an in-house seamstress, we’re happy to provide a list of independent bridal alteration specialists for you to consider.
Then comes the exciting part—your dress is officially yours and one step closer to your wedding day!
Urban Bride does not have an in-house seamstress; however, we’re happy to provide you with a list of independent bridal alteration specialists in the Edmonton area.
Bridal alterations are an important part of achieving the perfect fit, so we recommend choosing a seamstress who has experience working specifically with wedding gowns and bridal fabrics.
We suggest contacting your preferred seamstress well in advance of your wedding, as alteration schedules can fill quickly, particularly during peak wedding season.
Alteration services and costs are separate from your gown purchase and are arranged directly between you and your chosen seamstress. Our recommended seamstresses are independent businesses and are not affiliated with Urban Bride.
Depending on the designer, your gown typically arrives 6-8 months from the date you place your order. It seems like a long time but don’t worry we will stay in touch with you throughout the entire time to keep you updated along the way. Once your gown is ready to ship to us, you will be required to pay your remaining balance. Finally, once your gown arrives, we will arrange for you to “meet your dress” and ideally we aim to have that happen 3-4 months before your wedding date.
As an intimate boutique, we do our best to create a curated selection of gowns that represent our typical bride’s style. While we carry a number of different styles by designer, we may not have every single gown from a designer’s entire collection. That being said if there is a specific gown that you are looking for, please contact us and if we don’t happen to carry it in store we will let you know what options are available to possibly get you a sample to try on. Depending on the designer, they may have a loaner program available that allows stockists to temporarily borrow a specific gown for clients. Please note that there are loaner fees involved with this option that are charged to the bride. For more details, please contact us.
To help protect our wedding gowns and keep our bridal boutique beautiful for every bride, outside food and beverages, including champagne and alcohol, are not permitted in the boutique.
Water is always welcome, and we encourage you and your guests to celebrate before or after your appointment.
We appreciate your understanding and helping us care for the gowns that may become someone’s dream dress.
Our sample gowns range from size 6 to 28.
We do our best to buy average sizing to be able to fit as many brides as possible. Many of the designers we carry offer plus sizes as well even if we may not have specific plus sizes in store. Our stylists are able to show you how each gown will fit even if it is not in your exact sizing.
Our off the rack gowns range from Size XXS to Size 30.
Yes! Urban Bride can help arrange professional bridal gown cleaning for both gowns purchased from us and eligible consignment gowns.
We work with a professional cleaner experienced in caring for wedding dresses. Cleaning costs vary depending on the fabric, detailing, condition and level of cleaning required.
Standard bridal gown cleaning typically starts around $150–$225 + tax, while silk, specialty fabrics or gowns requiring additional care may cost $400 or more.
Because every wedding dress is different, final cleaning costs are confirmed after the gown has been assessed by the cleaner.
Please contact us for more information about having your wedding gown professionally cleaned.
Bridal consignment is a way to sell a wedding dress through Urban Bride without having to manage the selling process yourself.
If your gown is accepted into our consignment program, it becomes part of our off-the-rack bridal collection. We display your dress in our boutique, introduce it to potential brides, assist with try-ons and handle the sale on your behalf.
Your gown remains your property until it sells. When it sells, Urban Bride retains a commission for providing the selling service, and you receive your portion of the final selling price.
We get gowns from bridal stores and from independent brides.
Please call 780 485 0036 or email urbanbrideinc@gmail.com to set up an accessory consultation.
We understand that wedding plans can change. If your special-order gown has already been ordered, the order cannot be cancelled, refunded or transferred, as the gown was ordered specifically for you.
Once your gown arrives and the balance has been paid, you may wish to explore reselling or consigning the dress.
Urban Bride offers a bridal consignment program for select gowns. If your dress meets our current style, condition, age and resale criteria, you’re welcome to submit it for consideration.

Most brides will need some alterations to achieve the best fit for their wedding day. Bridal gowns are ordered according to the designer’s size chart rather than being custom-made to your exact measurements.
Common alterations may include hemming the length, adjusting the bodice or straps, adding a bustle, or making minor fit adjustments.
Alteration costs are not included in the price of your gown and will vary depending on the dress, fabric and work required.
Urban Bride does not have an in-house seamstress; however, we’re happy to provide a list of independent bridal alteration specialists for you to consider. We recommend arranging alterations well in advance of your wedding date.
Your bridal stylist can also explain how a gown may fit differently once it is ordered in your size, but the final fit and alteration recommendations will be determined by your seamstress.
Our gowns range from $500- $2,500, with a few gowns falling outside of that range on both ends. The majority of our collection resides between $1,000 and $2,000.
We only offer a consignment program. Which means we pay you and withhold a commission only if your gown has sold. There are no fees if your gown does not sell successfully.
If your gown meets our qualifications, we will set up an drop off appointment. We do not consign bridesmaid gowns, mother of the bride/groom, flower girl dresses , shoes and used jewelry.
For pre-qualification, please email us with a picture or link to the designer, age of gown and designer name. We do not take custom gowns made abroad and remake from a discounted website.

Selling a wedding dress on your own can mean creating listings, answering messages, negotiating prices, arranging meet-ups and allowing strangers to try on your gown. Consigning with Urban Bride allows us to take care of the selling process for you.
Your gown is displayed in our Edmonton bridal boutique, where brides are already actively shopping for their wedding dress. Our experienced bridal stylists introduce your gown to potential buyers, assist with try-ons and help brides see how the dress could work for their wedding day.

Most importantly, consignment gives your wedding dress the opportunity to be loved all over again—while making a beautiful gown more accessible to another bride.
Wedding gowns on consignment are handled and tried on by prospective brides, so normal handling and minor wear can occur during the consignment period.
At Urban Bride, we take reasonable care when storing, displaying and assisting brides with consignment gowns. However, because the dress is being offered for sale and tried on, we cannot guarantee that it will remain in exactly the same condition as when it was received.
If damage occurs, responsibility will be determined according to the terms of your signed consignment agreement. Urban Bride is not responsible for normal wear associated with displaying or trying on a consignment gown, except where otherwise stated in the agreement.
We encourage consignors to carefully review the consignment agreement before leaving their gown with us so they understand the risks and responsibilities involved.
We work our very hardest and safest to get your dress sold. However, in the event that your beautiful dress doesn’t sell, you can pick up your dress from our boutique. We also offer a return drop-offs in Edmonton for $20 or we can ship the dress outside of the greater Edmonton area at a reasonable price.
Yes! We do accept dresses from all over. We can help arrange the shipping of your gown so that it can be sold in our boutique.
Your wedding gown should be clean and in excellent condition before it can be offered for sale through Urban Bride.
However, if your gown has not yet been professionally cleaned, you can still submit it for consignment consideration. We will first review your gown to determine whether it is a good fit for our current collection.
If your gown is accepted but requires cleaning, Urban Bride can help arrange professional bridal gown cleaning. Cleaning costs are the responsibility of the consignor and vary depending on the gown’s fabric, detailing and condition.
We recommend waiting for consignment approval before investing in professional cleaning, as submitting a gown does not guarantee acceptance into our consignment program.
Final acceptance is always subject to an in-person inspection of the gown’s condition.
You can explore a selection of our wedding dresses right here on our website and through our social media pages.
Because our inventory is constantly changing, not every gown available in the boutique is featured online. New special-order styles and off-the-rack gowns arrive regularly, while other dresses may sell before we’re able to post them.
If you see a gown you love online, feel free to send us a photo or screenshot before your appointment. We can let you know whether it is currently available to try on and suggest similar styles from our collection.
For the best look at everything Urban Bride has to offer, we recommend booking a bridal appointment. Your stylist can introduce you to gowns based on your style, size, budget and wedding vision.

We love little ones; however, to provide a relaxed and enjoyable bridal experience, we recommend arranging childcare whenever possible.
Our boutique is filled with delicate wedding gowns, mirrors and displays, and our bridal suites are designed for adult guests. Strollers are not permitted in the bridal gallery.
If a child must attend, we ask that they remain closely supervised by an adult guest at all times so you can focus on enjoying your appointment and finding your dress.
Please keep in mind that children count toward your guest limit of four adult guests only if you want that policy to apply.
